Sew/like I say/you-know, seems to be the modern way to start things.

I'm 75 and although I have driven other cars, I have always owned some sort of mini for well over 50 years.

My favourite?  Probably a "breathed-on" 848 mini pickup;  it would touch 90, was beautifully set up and on Goodyear grand-prix's, it went every where flat out, sorting it out in the corners and "left foot braking" through them in the wet.

Oh, happy days, no speed cameras and at that speed, police cars loomed up in front, not in the mirror.

Eventually I dropped in a 997 with 544 cam:-    It ruined it:-    I had to keep lifting off !

Welcome to the forum, have you got a Mini today, if not, any thoughts you may buy another?

Yes,  Lots,  but like so many of us, they are in the process of being rebuilt, only one on the road, a 1000 Mk2.

I'm building engines this winter, and I'm looking for some Triumph Vitesse 1600 pistons plus 060"  for a dead square engine.

To comment on your profile picture.  I used to have a 7 port alluminium Alexander head, with 4 Amal carbs, no two of which ever balanced, and the valves were too small for anything over an 803cc engine.

At 75 you are a youngster! I'll be 78 this year and still enjoy my 1964 Cooper 'S' full-on rally car and the 1964 80 which I'm currently doing a very full restoration on.

Welcome on here, we are quite a nice lot really.

Welcome along DeadSquare. This forum is great because we have many members with 50yrs of experience and others with enthusiasm to learn and start their driving careers in the best small car in the world!
I suppose I fall somewhere in the middle. Please do post up some pictures of your Minis when you can :)
