Accidents and Recovery Pictures from the 1970/80's

"Recollections of a vehicle recovery driver in the eighties (plus a bit from the seventies and the nineties).

WARNING: If you have lost love ones in vehicle Accidents, in the London / Surrey area, it may be best if you don't watch this. I always thought that 'Drive' was the perfect song for us, because it summed up both the sadness and the joy of doing what we did. As I have said elsewhere, these were times like no other and I fondly remember the people I meet (customers and colleagues), during those crazy years. They were not 'PC' times, no health and safety. But with all the dangers the job held, it still had to be done and I think on the whole, we did more good than harm."

Accidents, Rollovers & Recoveries from the Eighties Video 1

Quote:

"This is a collection of Recovery Jobs in the late eighties. It also gives you a chance to see some of the great characters that were in the industry back in the days before it went all Health and Safety. I know it looks appalling now, but we knew what we were doing and I never 'lost a man on my watch'!

Very interesting and sad at the same time.

Seems to be a lot of Morris Marina's involved.

Despite the obvious sadness these accidents can carry... the service staff are much less stressed then today and gave time to enjoy life/work.
Even the police are seen kicking loose.

The job is very different today and everyone carries a camera! Too many people after picking fault with our EMS crews etc

they involve so many marinas as they didn't handle very well at all!

I had an ital and a marina coupe and as much as I loved them, they did drive really badly.
