Replacement Panel Coating

Best Answer sonikk4 , 10 February 2018 - 10:28 PM

They are either Magnum panels or Heritage no matter what.

So if its a pattern panel remove the coating. If its a Heritage panel thoroughly check it for spider tracks of rust. You will still need to give it a good key before paint, so i tend to flat them right back no matter what. And that is speaking from experience here with regards to the spider tracks.

Hi All,

So with any replacement panel for our minis, they always come with this black anti rust coating on them. I know for magnum panels this coating 100% has to be removed before painting over as it causes all sorts of problems.

However has anyone had any issues with the coating on minspares own panels, its almost like a semi gloss coating, could i just flatten it and primer over? Or is it good practice to just remove it all and then paint etc?
