Hi everyone
Im currently trying to fit dashcards in my mini, its an oval binnacle with no vents and Ive got the cardboard dash insert. Ive been bending and pushing and think Im just gonna end up destroying these cards so has anyone got any tips that they used before I waste £20 on a bit of cardboard

Thanks!!!

I sympathise - they are a good interference fit,

think I managed to wiggle mine in (!) by inserting it in the bottom  (sorry) edge and then working from the centreline both sides until meeting at 12:00.

Unless its urgent I would wait for a warmer day or warm the card/vinyl up to make it easier

Apologies for the carry on mini explanation...

Matt

I've always fitted them as the previous post, you have to get them well tucked in at the bottom and then push them about half way up until they sort of pop in past the upper rail. this is for the early mini with no crash pad mind you, I've no idea if it's the same for later types.

Are you sure you have the correct panels?

Im assuming so? Oval binnacle with no vents. Or is there a variance of this as the description doesnt mention years it would fit etc

Have you got the panels the correct way up? The picture on the Mini Spares website shows them upside down!

The original cards are a pain in the bum to install, I've never understood why they are so oversized - it's completely pointless, there must have been some bizarre 1950's theory behind it.

That's why our range are shaped completely different and are easy to install: LINK

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Andy @ Optimise Automtoive

P.S. Our range is also trimmed in leatherette, which looks much better than the painted cardboard originals.

Yeah, I did start with them upside down but then realise!
