Just out of curiosity what is your guys opinion of those mini pickup with the engine in the back? Apart from having the engine open any other downsides?

I remember a white one from a few years back. Had a hyabusa engine in the back. I think it had a cover on the back so was a sleeper apart from the 13s and miglia arches. I really liked the look of it!

do you have a photo of that one? Most of the ones i seen the itb sticks out a little pass the bed line so I didn't think a cover would work for it. Also no real mini will be harm i am just asking to get some idea for my next build which I am pretty sure it will be a mini pickup

When people do these sort of conversions (like the Z cars ones on the salons) you realise how cleaver the original design was, as you end up with a 2 seater with no luggage / storage space at all. Where as the standard Mini uses its small dimensions to the absolute maximum.

I think when someone does that conversion i dont think luggage space is the first thing in their mind, at least I hope not, I would think they are willing to sacrifice storage space for better performance.

Apart from the fact it's now very difficult (though not impossible) to get cars like this legally registered in this country if you are going to do it (especially if you are where the OP is) go big or go homeAttached File  image.jpeg   92.06K   3 downloads

Ohhh no lol not quite a fan of that one, if he used a real mimi he destroy it, everything good about using a mini is gone in that build. I am thinking about going either 1l to 1.3l at most a 2.1l. I am trying to build a pickup version of this
http://www.speedhunt...ackroad-burner/ lightweight and simple with the exception of me wanting to make it rwd.
I just can't decide on engine placement both have their pros and con

You can't see in the pictures but I can confirm from memory that there was a small cut out in the middle of the bed right behind the rear window where the throttle bodies poked out.

I wonder if their is another way to cover a rear engine without attracting much attention.
