Car:
1275 Rover Mini Cooper MPI (2000)

Hi all,

Slowly getting my car running again! After a head gasket change, and a few other fixes under the bonnet I'm nearly ready to flash up the engine... yaay!

I've been trying to make sure everything is reconnected under the bonnet (power cables, sensors etc) and seem to have a spare connector I can't work out what it's for.

The only things left to go in are my alternator, ECU and fan/radiator assembly.
I have identified the wires for the alternator and ECU, but not the fan.

There are two identical connectors within reach of the fan, one comes from the fuse box with one of the full beam lights (I think I remember it being attached to here before), the other comes off the horn wiring (I don't know what this is for).

Which do I go with? Is there something I've forgotten to connect, or is one a spare/legacy if I ever decide to switch between front/side mounted radiators?

Thanks,
- Andy.

I bought an aftermarket fan myself and I'm also looking for guidance. Glad you posted.

Was able to compare against my neighbour's 1997 mini - he doesn't have the second connection by the horn so went with the lead off the fuse box/light.
