Looks horrible, I would have asked to have the wights fitted to the inside of the wheel.  Also shouldn't the red dot on the tyre, at the 9 o'clock position in the photo, be lined up next to the valve to reduce the amount of balance weight needed?

100% spot on with red dot, just sloppy fitters.

When I had new tyres fitted to my 7x13 the machine was set to enable the weights to be fitted on the centerline of the rim, this is obviously behind the spokes. They can't be seen and don't interfere with the caliper.

maybe it would be a good idea to balance the wheel without a tire and grind material away (behind the tire surface)?

It's normally the tyre that needs balancing though ...

With 10" alloys it is difficult to fit the weights on the inside as they hit the brake calliper.

well i've done a bit of asking around and found someone with a balancer that will calculate for inside only so it would appear that the original fitter was limited due to his machinery.  I have removed the weights without  damaging the paint so will get them re-done.

I HATE knock on weights on the outside of alloys, they always make a mess of the paint / lacquer. Stick on ones arent much better!

Weights on the outer do look crap, Had mine fitted on the inside when I restored my wheels, they used the stick on ones, have to say when I checked under the car a few weeks ago most of the weights that where there have disappeared ! but I haven't noticed and problems or vibrations. so they will stay like that until I fit new tyres again, by my reckoning it will be about 5 years from now.
