Hi all,

I'm having problems getting my MPI to fire up, it tries but coughs and splutters and stalls after a second or so.

I removed the green fuel line and it was dry, should this be full of fuel seeing as it is the return line to the tank ? bearing in mind that the engine is not starting but fuel is coming through the orange pipe.

Thanks

Pete

You should be getting a little through it. I'd be looking at fuel pump and fuel filter next.

then stop playing and find one.

you have so many threads and yet you have done very little diagnostic work.

but at a guess you have fuel issues. note the word guess.

i would say you have one issue.

the fuel pressure should be about 3 bar. is that is 40ish Psi so with pump on and pipe disconnected from the injectors you should have petrol pissing everywhere.

do you have the MPi service manual? or suitable haynes manual?

PM me you email addy and i can send you the Rover MPi manual.

No, it's OK, I did go a bit overboard with my threads, I kind of got into a bit of a panick and started new threads for each problem I was coming up against.
