Send your Injectors off to be ultrasonically cleaned, well worth it.

Are the fuel pipes the right way round? (can't remember if you can put them the wrong way round or not)
As above, more fuel should help with fuel presure build up.
On that last one, have you changed the petrol cap?

So, I've been playing around under the bonnet as they say, I powered up the petrol pump and left it running for a few minutes, cleaned a couple of sensors on the inlet manifold, removed and cleaned the crankshaft sensor and bugger me, it fired up.
It is running rough though, I only let it run for a couple of seconds, i'm in the basement and the exhaust fumes stink the house out.
I'll have to find some sort of tube to push the exhaust fumes out the door.
Pete.

Backfire in the inlet is a lean condition, HOWEVER, check your other post regarding MPi ignition leads and coil pack, I have responded there.
hazard an educated guess that it's likely the fuel pump to me.
Take the tank out of the car. In a well ventilated area (outside and away from the garage, house or the car) securely fit a length of fuel hose onto the fuel supply line connection on the tank and then place the other open end into a clean bucket. Power the pump and watch the fuel flow from the hose. Slowly kink or pinch the hose and listen to the fuel pump, its tone should notably change, and a loud hissing should be heard where you have kinked or pinched the hose, you should feel a resistance in the hose and fuel should still be flowing. If you get to the point that you have kinked or pinched the hose completely, fuel has stopped flowing and you have not experienced any of the things mentioned above, the pump is faulty. Ideally you should have a pressure gauge fitted so you can see the pressure rise as you kink or pinch the hose.
Obviously you are working with raw fuel in an open bucket and electricity on the tank, take great care and if you are unsure about anything, leave it for someone else.
