You can get the battery covers from MiniSpares - part number 5L877
This one looks like it's made of a hard card type material. Is that the case? I was thinking of getting one, but would rather it be made of plastic so that it doesn't get damaged by water ingress.
Innocentis had hard plastic battery covers. They pop up on eBay every so often but also more often than not they will be damaged.

Painting it with dilute PVA should waterproof it - but if your boot is that wet consider new seal?
