hi

what are people using for image hosting on the forum. i was using photobucket for years but i am having trouble using it now and it has millions of pop ups.

I'm using imgbb. Works really well and is easy to embed into the forum.

I use Imgur, very easy to use - similar set up to PB but a lot quicker.

As others have said, Imgur is excellent. Definitely steer clear of PB now, bunch of money grabbing bastards!

PB is rubbish, always takes forever to upload pics I find.

 

why cant we just post directly to the forum anyway, like adding pics on ebay, direct from computer to site? im not very tech savy so that may be a stupid question, it would just be easier that's all.

It is possible but all those pictures take up a lot of space on the server and also everytime one is served to the page it costs bandwidth. All of this starts to add up very quickly and could cost the site a lot of money. Not an issue if you are are giant like eBay but as the forum does not explicitly make any money its better to host elsewhere and keep the costs down.
