I've had a search on the forum and haven't found what I want.

I've got a 1293 that I'm rebuilding kent 266 cam, Kalver ST GT head, HIF44 carb etc. Whats the recommended Rad?   2, 3, 4 core?

Cheers

I have always used a standard Cooper 'S' spec radiator in my Cooper 'S' with a 6-blade export fan and an auxiliary electric fan for driving in very hot weather and traffic. I have not needed the aux fan more than half a dozen times and then only when queuing in traffic,

I have for a long time now used the 4 tube (core) types, that's also what was factory fitted in to our local late 1275 production cars. The small bit of extra capacity of coolant these hold seems to just put them over the 'hump' for cooling capacity.

Minispares super cool 2 core rad on mine. If anything i've been struggling to keep the engine warm on these colder days.

Minispares 2 core for me. Also has the switch for electric fan if you need it.

Minispares 2 core as well. As above, even with a 88deg stat I still struggle to get hot on cold days though!

I just remembered another.

A Radiator I've had the best success with is those from the ADO16 range of cars. A bit hard to come by these days, while only being a 3 Tube (core) type they have a bigger core surface area and hold around an extra litre. You'll never over heat any Mini Engine with one of these.

Along with the Radiator, you'll need the cowling and lower mount.

They do fit in a Mini. They go straight in to a Clubman with no modifications at all, on a Round Nose, it does come close to the bonnet and some 'tweaking' maybe needed.

<Edit: The other thing to add in - regardless of what Radiator you end up running with - is to fit a separate Header or Expansion Tank. This will not only aid with cooling, but also keep air from the coolant and being dissolved in to it.>

I had the 2 core brass radiator from Minispares which worked fine and I had nearly the same set up you have. Only reason I switched was because when i power washed it i bent the cooling fins.....Idiot on my part. But here's 2 for comparison both work very well.

I've had a search on the forum and haven't found what I want.
