Its a runner , usual Mini welding n paint needed, im doing it all myself and loving the saving the pocket rocket....... :proud:

No, very simple as long as the old spring and trumpet separate ok. Only thing you have to watch out for is the spanners needed to adjust them are quite big and need to be open-ended ones.

My build started out almost identical in colour and condition to yours - and I see from the rear light panels you're going retro as well?

.....still lots of welds to finish n dress up, but there getting better, o/s had the dreaded over sill fitted, a little more rust cut outs but i think ive gotten off lightly,

Just bought a conversion panel for the boot, a weld in section to convert  to a mk1 Mini boot look, £30 delivered!

bit more done......bare metalling the body and started the first of the filling, all major weldings now done, just little bits to tweek here n there......

Great job with the bootlid, I took the easy way out and bought a new early style lid! Are you going for a Mk1 interior? there were very few Mk1 steering columns out there when I did mine, the one I got came from Portugal in the end, but it's the only way I could see of having a steering wheel centre hornpush.
