Hi all.

Im shortly going to be taking both the front and rear subbys of my 95 Cooper.

Whilst I've got them off, i guess i should be changing all the bushes, can anyone recommend where i can get a decent full set/kit of bushes?

Or if you can't buy a kit, can someone please tell me what are the various size and types of bush ill need in order to replace them all??

Lastly, i know this may spark a little debate, but....... Rubber or Poly?

I look forward to all your bushy comments!

IMO the quailty of the current rubber bushes available is pretty poor.

personally I would fit poly all round.

I would agree, I've just fitted rubber bushes to a car (not a mini), had to change the rear suspension tie rod bushes after less than 12 months and the radiator mountings are all cracking already (not even been on the road yet).

One thing is that there was a thread recently about fitting a mixture of poly and rubber to the front tie rods, might be worth looking up.

Stuff isn't made like it used to be (damn I sound like my dad now!).

I dont really like poly on a mini. Mostly because for one reason or another we get bad quality stuff.

I'd suggest Rubber Bushes.

The ones that M-parts have made (and it seems no one else stocks) are easily comparable to OEM Quality.

I used Minimine for my current project, the quality seems excellent. I wanted orange ones , because I'm a tart. No other reason

Poly on the front? No. Rubber or solid.

Rear - I've chosen poly at the front and rubber for the rear. Stiffness from the poly however the boot floor doesn't act like a drum skin with the vibrations using the rubber rear mounts. The proof is in the pudding, however it does make a significant difference.

Moke - Ive never successfully bought from M-Parts, I never receive their quote in order to be able to order stuff.
It seems the crappest online sales system Ive experienced! Any tips??

Sorry Graeme, only just saw your post now!

They do have a weird system of some world bank thing - it looks like a scam, but it all works.

Having said that, I sent off to them and a competitor in their market about 2 months ago with a circa £16k quote. I received one from the other guy and lots of promises of a quote from M-parts. I placed the order with the other company and M-parts are still dilly-dallying seemingly in the dark. Their loss on that one, but they have usually been good in the past.

Richard is the guy you need to get on to for parts orders.
