Okay everyone, I admit it. I may have fit my brand new headlining without checking where the rear view mirrors and sun visors fit...

Not a problem as I can measure where they should be but the question is, do the above items screw into metalwork or are there plastic clips in there waiting for the screws?

I'm concerned that when my car was being welded etc they may have been removed/fallen out etc etc and I don't want to be poking holes in my lovely whiny new headlining if there're not there!

Any pics or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks.

pretty sure they are just self taping screws that screw into the metal framework.

Once you've got a measurement to get you in the ballpark, use a pin to find the holes.

The rear view mirror on both my 73 & 91 mini's uses threaded screws not self tappers, don't worry I did the same after I had fitted a new head lining (doh!) the rear view mirror uses 3 screws to attach it roughly work out where the centre is the I used a metal scribe pressing into the head lining until I found the single hole, wiggled it round a bit so I could see where the screw needed to go then fitted the mirror up with the single screw then did the same to locate the other 2. Cant help with sun visors as I haven't refitted mine as I having the recovered, but I think it will be a similar process.

I used a needle to search the holes... Took me 10Min to find, but found the right spot.
