Geneva Premier of first production models - Mini Remastered

"At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Mini Classic is celebrating an exciting comeback: The Mini Remastered by David Brown Automotive combines the dimensions and look of the small car icon once created by Sir Alec Issigonis with modern technology, and shows that the classic hasn’t lost its charm. The fact that the 740-kilogram lightweight Mini can offer neither the space nor the safety of modern small cars, its fans will still fall in love with the unique design and British spirit.

Anyone who has fallen in love with the Mini Remastered by David Brown Automotive needs to exercise some patience since the vehicles are built with lots of manual work according to customer requirements. The cost, depending on the extent of special requests, is at least 75,000 British pounds."

Have they finally answered all the questions around the legality of these cars yet?

Lots of money involved, I feel it's a bit dodgy but that's just how it goes.
I prefere the Meanie as it doesn't use an old Id so is basically a new car.

And that's about it.

Not that impressed, apart from a few nice mods, there are quite a few mistake and nagging details that should not be at that price!

Lets see if you can see them!?

Ben

Ps: sorry for some of the pictures, was trying not to crawl under the car in front of hundreds of people...

Thanks for posting your photos and taking the trouble to get them despite hundreds of people watching  , interesting to see the close ups, underbonnet shots, the boot catch, etc that only us die hard Mini enthusiasts would be interested in or take photos of. I just need to view them again in more detail to spot the mistakes and nagging details you mentioned!

I really like these, the balance, the small mods, the modern dash with the ally knobs, some of the paint schemes are fab imo, I think it wouldn't be too hard to get very close to this done mostly yourself for around 10-15 grand !  It looks like they put the ECU under the dash or somewhere else as I don't see it under the bonnet.

as they reshell old cars they may not even have an ECU to start with.  15k would not get you far as the specials are their own and having them copied would be stupid price.

Some impressive work gone into the cars, but I can't help but think that the fairground style rear lights, front indicators and other bits like the rear number plate light cheapen the overall effect. If I were spending that sort of money, my preference would be for it to look original on the outside with modern equipment inside and under the bonnet. But I'm sure they've done their market research!

Is that a big piece of tape attached to the sill on the red car? Also, are the sills black, rather than body colour?
