I have not mounted it, I just wired it up and tried it. I held it in my fingers and when I turned the fan speed down low it got hotter and hotter. I know this is what it will do due to the resistance but I just don`t know how hot it would get if I left it on the car. It`s a real shame, I was going to mount it in place of the old switch on the heater control, I was impressed with the way it worked and I loved the retro look. Unless I mount it somewhere on the heater casing I don`t know how I could cool it. As an aside I thought you had to change the wiring set up to get a two speed fan to work
