Spi Alarm/immobilizer Won't Disengage

Best Answer rossul.burn , 20 March 2018 - 07:12 PM

I disconnect the horn tonight (loosened off the ECU bracket) and got in the car with all doors shut and pressed the button 4 times to resync it which worked. Car started up fine with no issues

Thanks

I've been recently sorting out the mini and one of the huge issues I had was the birds nest of wiring near the steering column. I cable tied it up and made it a lot neater. So after that I had the car running just to get everything warm and make sure it everything was working. Next task was to remove wiper motor so I disconnected the battery and set away doing that.

The next time I connect the battery the alarm keeps going off. Nothing will stop it, I've tried the key fob and don't hear the usual click. I really don't want to annoy my neighbours but this is doing my head in. Can someone help me with this?

And my new bloody exhaust doesn't fit. How typical.

standard fuse box or 24

if standard look in the foam behind the airbox and there should be 3 inline fuses clean em up or replace them as ones for the alarm,

24 fuse box, no inline fuses. I've checked the fuses that are marked for the alarm but they are all okay

I will put car in profile now

Replace the battery in the fob for starters and disconnect the horn so you don't upset the neighbors

If the alarm was armed when you disconnected the battery, the alarm will be armed when you reconnect the battery. If the alarm is disarmed when you disconnect the battery, the alarm will be disarmed when you reconnect the battery. You need to re sync the fobs when you have disconnected the battery.

Sorry this should have been worded differently.

How do you get to the plug? The ECU is in the way and there doesnt seem to be enough cable to move it out the way and disconnect the horn, if i did disconnect the ECU would this cause problems?
