This may just be a daft question, but I seem to have a problem with the max travel of the accelerator pedal on my Pickup.. I've just installed the cable onto the carbs - it has twin SU carbs with a butterfly linkage - http://www.minispare...sic/12A310.aspx   and the original early (1972) pedal.

But the pedal only moves about half way before the carbs are fully open and hitting the end, so there isn't much movement really ... is this normal or have I don't something wrong?

Thanks

There's a piece that bolts up to the pedal box that effectively depresses the accelerator pedal down about 1/3 of it's possible travel that's often left off restorations. I suspect you maybe missing this piece.

It bolts up to one of the existing bolts on the pedal box.

I'll see if I have a photo

If your pedal isn't hitting the carpet, you're not trying hard enough!  :D

Thats a part often left in a box after the car has been taken apart and put back together, as few know what it is or where it goes when looking at the part in its own😆

Cheers for letting us know.

I also find the pedal ends up at a more comfortable angle too.
