he guys, so I'm trying to get my head around an issues. and I'm finding it a little tough to grasp what the fault is. and how I go about fixing it.

So I have just installed a GT clubman dash into my car. I did this so I could get my speedo reading right and also so for the rev counter .

I have done a electronic ignition conversion along time ago and its been very good no issues at all . Nissan Dr83 Dizzy, new coil removed the ballast resister.

the gauge doesn't read idle, if I stab the throttle fast the needle will jump, and when driving it only really gets up to 1000 rpm. so it definitely not performing correctly. but is that due to my non points ignition system or is the gauge faulty?

I think that the reason my rev counter is not performing correctly is because of the electronic dizzy ? but I want to know why so I can try and fix it .

So I am thinking that because I have changed from points to a electronic dizzy and a lower ohm coil that the out put voltage is now allot higher than before , when the spark is fired.

So does that mean that the gauge is calibrated to see say 150 to 200 volts and that is the range it uses to see the ignition pattern , so that is the frequency that it is calibrated for, but in reality it is more like 250 350 volts, so that gauge isn't registering the voltage because its out of its scope?

the reason I am asking is because in my mind, would me putting a resister in line between the gauge and the coil negative reduce the voltage seen by the gauge and then that will make the gauge read correctly ?

here is a picture of my new home made dash set up just for attention
