It's putting up a fight today. Rebuilding rear brakes with new back plate assembly complete with shoes. Rh drum on OK lh no go. Rh shoe looks off centre and too high up, won't go downward any more due to handbrake actuating lever stopping it.any ideas?

Loosen the handbrake cable and then try to move the shoe down as needed

As Nick says, assembled correctly? Hand brake linkage upside down and fitted to wrong side?

Preassembled backplate and shoes, no cables fitted. Right way up on the hub. I've just come vack in from 't shed, filed a little off the shoe where the hand brake lever goes in, dropped show down a smudge more, ground off a v small lip on the drum this got it on but rubbing too much when turned. Filed off small rub marks on the shoes and it's freed off a bit more, still a little snug mind but OK I hope. Such a faff.thanks for the swift replies it's appreciated. Great forum.
