hi all, got my renewal quote for my mini today from Lancaster insurance. price is £165.35 and has gone up approx. £30.00 since last year, this is a 3000 miles per year, comprehensive cover and agreed valuation of 7k. in truth I only did 500miles last year. I just wondering how that compares with other peoples costs? it covers two named drivers. both of us in our 40s. what you think, could I do better? cheers in advance.

If you insure it to 1.5k it may drop a few pounds? Mines £135 but it's very modified. Dependeds a lot on where you live also

Im 40 and Lancaster were really expensive for me, I went with footman James in the end and paid £112 per year for 2k miles, stage 1 and 4 drivers, garaged.

Looks like a normal insurance increase! Just get another quote. Last six years i've bounced between Carole Nash, Adrian Flux and Peter James. They alway offer you a great deal, put it up a bit in year 1 and then put up even more in year 2. Always has cost me about 125 quid with agreed value and mods.

It's all part of the game, I've just insured my Morris minor and the wife's mini, I ended up leaving Lancaster due to the increase but they turned out cheapest for the mini so that's gone to them instead.

Try Peter James or Footman James.

The old man is in his 50's with mum on his policy. 8 cars insured (2x Consuls, 4x Minis, 1x Mercedes and a Morris Minor) with the agreed values totalling over 60k. 5000 miles mileage limit with breakdown cover included. He paid £400 and he lives in a 'high risk' area...
