How old are the tyres? I found my 5 yr old A539's had gone hard and harsh, aswell as less grip. 10's give such a better ride too, but as above, how old are your front cones? Makes a big difference.
Also, my 2p, a comfy Mini doesnt HAVE to be standard height, have mine pretty low ground clearance wise, find it fine!
