Evening all,

I'm in the process of converting my mini to ecu controlled ignition. I'm using a megasquirt style ecu rather than Megajolt.

I've copied one of the base megajolt maps found online. Just wanted to double check to see if its somewhere close:

Thanks in advance,

Dan

I've attached the map separately, photobucket being uncooperative.

that looks like roughly what i would expect and should get you going no probs.

depending on the spec of the engine at full bore you might not want 32-33 deg of advance, personally i would pull 2 degrees from the whole map to ensure it is totally safe, and then add them back on the rollers, 1 deg then half, then half again with the operator looking for det &power change, and then go from there.

also at part throttle you can probably stand more advance to help with economey and a bit more punch, in the 60-80 kpa range at 2k-4k you might be able to add some more, but beware pinking, another job for on the rollers.

oh, just to check, this is a non turboed/supercharged car right?

Yep speeduino, I'm trying to do a home-brew version of the SC 5 Port injection kit.

Cool,

I have run MS2 on my 7 port turbo, and am upgrading to MS3 and a K1200 head, but the speeduino does look really good, might well get a PCB and build one up as a spare. I like the MS, but it is soo complicated now with all the options, speeduino cuts this right down by the look of it.

A freind is looking at converting to speeduino on his 5 port turbo, megajolt and SU at the moment, but looking to do the ignition, and then move to injection much as you are.

I haven't ever touched electronics before really and I found building it up relatively simple. They're pretty amazing value for what you can do with them.

I've just ordered a Speeduino, fo rthe time being it'll be doing just the ignition but the long-term is to figure out an injection system and run that as well off the Speeduino.

My mate is quite confident in how to set up the ignition but I'm not as savvy so I'd be interested in reading anyone's experiences.

here you go, but also there are bits on ebay, you can get them fully assembled, oras a kit, or as a pcb and get the parts yourself form mouser or digikey.

Currently its a standard metro (I believe) 1275 bottom end with SW5 Cam and a nicely ported head (36 or 35 Inlet, 31 Exhaust). Currently got a HIF44 with a BDK needle.
