My cable has just snapped. I have twin su carbs and a 1380 engine. Whats the best cable or model number.
I dont need the whole cable just the inner bit. Or is it best to replace the whole thing?

Personally id replace the whole thing but thats as mine the cable has burned on the manifold and likely the internal sleeve is destroyed.,

Go to Wilkos and buy a bike inner cable. I've been running with one for the last 3 years. Just slightly modify the captive end to ensure a good fit into the throttle pedal.

A universal bike rear gear cable fits the pedal perfectly, actually it's what I replace my throttle cables with

the only issue with cycle cables is they are thinner. and the nipples generally smaller.

as to what do you need for yours it depends on what you have fitted.

i have used the same a´cable on mine with single SUs delortos webbers down draft side draft and splits. you just make brackets to work.

I used a bicycle rear brake cable, s/s reinforced version, so the cable diameter is the same as standard.
The gear ones have a correctly shaped end but are thinner, it's easier to mod the brake one amd keep the thick cable, justdont forget to grease it!
Fitted one to mine after 2 genuine ones failed in about a month, worked for 15 years and is still on the car (altho the car doesn't move anymore...).
Check the sleeve for wear amd heat damage, if in doubt change it.
