So iv got a rebuilt 998 from rover, it has the rebuilt engine number code not the standard 99h etc, and was allegadly taken by one of the workers from factory when they where closing down (how true that is i wouldnt know) but it is mint and looks like it has never done a mile since the rebuild. How much would it be worth? Or would it be worth no more than any other a+ 998?

The main issue is that they stopped producting 998 powered minis is the early 90's so it's likely that is been standing around for 20+ years already.  You could cross your fingers and hope everything is still lubridated and free and wont wipe the metal of the friction parts on first run, or strip it down and rebuild.

As it stands, couple of hundred as it should be new(ish) parts, but needs time and effort or blind faith.

I took the head off and there is still visable assmbly lube in the bores. Im not planning on selling it (im gonna use the gearbox casing off it) just wanted to make sure im not about to strip something for parts that coukd be worth more as it is 😉
