Minispares website states that the 88°C thermostat is best for unleaded, 'because the fuel needs higher temperatures to burn properly and provide best power and performance'.
I have a highly tuned 1380, eg 296 cam, unleaded big valve head. I guess I always always under the impression keeping it cool is a problem so i previously used a blanking plate rather than thermostat. I have just put in an 82°C stat.
But would it be better to use an 88°C thermostat?
