The previous owner has cut a square hole in my parcel shelf which I planning to fill in with a section of the old floor, which has a similar strengthening ribs.
Question is what are the two 50mm holes in original the parcel shelf used for ?.

I may be wrong here.. But I always thought they were for tweeters?
There should be 2x 50mm holes and 2x 180mm holes

TWEETERS! I've been robbed. I've only got two speakers in the whole car and one of them is dicky.
I'm guessing here but could they be for the autonomous driving LIDAR detectors?

I believe originally they were for a single oval speaker.

The 2 holes in the middle of the parcel shelf was originally for a single speaker to be fitted and not for tweeters...
My GOD Sir Alec, didn't design the Mini to have a radio fitted as he simply hated radios in cars, but he did like to smoke - possibly why there are 4 ashtrays in some of the earlier cars LOL
