Hi

I'm thinking of painting my clubby front grille gloss black.
What would be the best way of preparing it for paint? Rub over with wire wool and degrease? Or would would I be able to sandblast it or similar? I'm thinking not due to it being plastic! Lol
There's so many little nooks and cranys I'm not sure I'd get them all with wire wool/wet and dry.

Any advice would be appreciated

Oh right I assumed it was plastic for some reason.
Would that be OK to get sandblasted then?

It’s very soft aluminium so vapour blasting is the way forward.

I used a scotch bright on mine, same as others with taping off what I didn’t want painted.
Hit it with the paint.

I cleaned up the Ali on mine first then taped off the areas to be painted, a light scotchbright pad over the bare areas, etch prime then topcoat.

OK guys that's what I was thinking.
I'm gonna paint the whole thing black so a bit easier without having to mask it up etc.
Should I use a primer before paint? Or just etch on the bare bits?
