Brake Bleeding - Hand Brake On Or Off..?

Daft question, and I cant recall how I done it last time, changing the brake fluid soon as its not been done in about 4 years - going to use easi bleed kit / spare wheel to replace the fluid, not actually bleed the system of air, as its spot on, lets hope I dont let any air in...!

 

Question is, does it make any difference to have the hand brake on or off?

It won't matter but I'd get the back wheels off the floor and give the shoe adjusters an exercise with the hand brake off, bleed all the brakes in the correct sequence for your setup then adjust the rear brakes until the adjusters don't stop the rear wheel turning both sides and you should have a nice pedal and a nice even balance hand brake. Without doing the rears you might have loads of travel even if the shoes have worn equally both sides.
