Please Put My Mind At Rest Re. Flywheel 180° Out.

Best Answer Wiggy , 02 May 2018 - 04:30 PM

She runs!!! It was blocked injectors! I'm over the moon! Thank you so much for the help.

I had an mpi in recently for non starting, got fuel to the rail but not out of the injectors diagnostics shown a pulse signal from ecu to the injectors, tested them and they where clicking but no amount of cleaning would get them to perform put two working used injectors in and she fired up immediately

My injectors were the same. Just clicking, no flow at all. The Redex didn't do much; so I got a small syringe of Unleaded, stuck it in the top, and squeezed the plunger moderately hard. Then the missus pulsed the injectors a few times with some wire and a car battery. After a few tries they squirted like a good'un!

Mine looked like that when I installed it recently - the tabs on the locking washer didn't line up with the slots on mine either, I just punched new sections out to lock it?

I've just compared your photo to the one i have of my engine as i took it apart. They're both the same, so looks like your alignment is fine. Not entirely sure what Nick is seeing wrong...

i am just not liking how this looks.

The key does look a little mashed. But it maybe the quality of the photo. Also, i hope he lifted the tabs after.

I'm inclined to agree with you there. It just didn't occur to me! Blast.

Oh well. You live and learn. Looks like I'll have to take the Wok off.

Yeah, that was pre torquing the bolt and staking the washer.

I agree the nut isn't locked in this picture - I'm not sure how the sections of the lockwasher with the small slot either side which I presume was designed to be bent out through the slots shown to lock it are supposed to line up? Taking the clutch/flywheel off and putting it back on 180 deg the other way wont change the alignment of those tabs which is what I presume you're looking at?

Also look at steves picture and how far down the lock washer is.

it is a few mm further past the chamfer on the clutch center nose than Wiggys as that is on the chamfer.

Well it wasn't tightened when the pic was taken, but I do agree that it seems a bit off.

I shall report back on the verdict of 'Is Wiggy an idiot?' once I've got the wok off. Thanks all.

I suppose if the crank chamfer on either of them has been dressed at all that would affect the distance onto the crank that the clutch/flywheel sits?

Hmmmm. Interesting. I'm just gonna have to take a look to satisfy myself.

My ACR4 says Crank Sensor Sync = Good, whist turning the engine over.

But I don't know whether it just means the crank sensor is working, or whether the timing is what the ECU is expecting.
