I'm replacing an old skool RVI taco with a new CAI RVC tacho.

The old one worked on an inductive loop and I inserted the loop between coil white wire and fuse box right next to the fuse box.

The new one works on a single sense wire

The CAI instructions say that I need to take a supply from the coil(presumably the + side of coil). Can I just plug the sense wire onto the fuse box terminal that the coil + white wire hits??

The car is a mark one mini cooper with the two-fuse box and has been converted to negative earth.

Cheers Guy

You can take the +12v from the fuse box.

The 'sense' wire or -12V (white with black tracer) will need to come from the coil -ve (or CB) terminal.

So 100% the sense deffo has to be from the negative / ouput coil contact??

Damn.

Just built the loom onto the white......
