Is this the fuel pump on a 2000 Cooper Sport MPI? It's making a noise every so often, actually prob about 50% of the time. I'm guessing it needs replacing or maybe primed? Is there any common faults with them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the cable tie holding the sensor line. It wont be helping. Yes they are noisy, theyre an archaic design.
