I have an old original Triger cambelt kit for my mini - all pars are there, apart from the belt. :/

Does anybody know what belt to use? Will the belt from Minispares be suitable? (http://minispares.co...g/BELTBELT.aspx) Heading edit

The MiniSpares belt is for a 52 teeth belt kit. How many teeth should be on your belt?

20 teeth on the small one and 40 on the big one.

EDIT: It is called "Triger" and not thrige as I wrote.

OK, it's a Triger. I was going to ask what a "Thrige" belt drive was, as I had never known about that brand before!

At least one of the Mini Spares belt drive kits are descendants of the Triger belt design. C-AJJ3326RACE (not sure if it's still offered) has the same tooth count on the gears as yours (20 small, 40 big.)

The included belt is a Gates 41052 x 19mm, with 52 teeth.

word of warning with belts,

get the best belt available, a few years ago this was an issue with these kits. but I belive the belts available now are much better,

Keep an eye on them for oil contamination, with the cover on its not always apparent that any oil has got out, and it does bad things to the belt. ask me how I know! lol.

below went at relativly low speed, but still bent all8 valves on a 7 port, and took out the cam and rods too,

You can get Kevlar Belts for these and IMO, if you do want to run one, then that's the only belt to consider.

They only appear to be available from Mini Mania in the US
