Hi all,

I'm at the point of pulling my hair out and selling up as I just keep coming up against more issues that were produced by the chap who welded the car in the first place. The rear seatbelt mounts are in the wrong place. They're way too high and despite asking at the time if they were in the right place for the MPi, I was assured they were. Bull. *******.

I've had to pull out some of the sound deadening as the rear door cards were too far out for the plastic rear pocket covers. However with the seatbelt unit too high, they won't fit anyway.

What would be the best way to go about fixing this without disturbing the paintwork on the arches?

For all the time & effort you've put into this car this just isn't fair :(

Took my bins/rear cards out the other day -do you want me to measure where the brackets should be?

I turned the air blue. You all know who did the work previous to SMC, this is more proof of how much I've had to back pedal.

Thank you for the offer chap, Pete has text me over some reference pics and mine are clearly too high.

could you not make a couple of them brackets up same as that are welded to the car and mount them lower on the welded bracket and just drill and tap them in place 4 tap holes should be as strong as 4 spot welds

That's what Pete suggested too. I think this is the way forward. I really could do with getting some money back from the welded as I've had to fork out thousands to rectify some of the work.

If it's any use to you, Somerford sell the brackets (Part numbers AFU360040 and AFU360050)
