right just wondering you often see the inside of blocks been painted and the inside of rockercovers have a "paint" on the inside.

I wouldn't, when the paint flakes off it will block the oil holes, very expensive 😉

I've seen a few engines where people had painted the internal areas, it didn't end well

Usually red oxide on iron blocks to stop the oil seeping through the block - believe it or not :proud:

There are special 2 part epoxies for this. Supposingly to make the oil run down faster.

Vizard advocates painting inside and out - I've etch primed the inside of my rocker covers and was wondering whether to paint the rocker area of the head with the same.

Yes I think it's fair to say 1929 minis are rare!

See no reason to do it...pointless exercise to gain nothing with potential downsides.

Never seen it anywhere in any tuning books including Vizards

I can confirm VIzard recommended painting the block interior in the Yellow Bible.

Page 42, top right. He actually said to red primer the inside, not paint.
