My 2000 Cooper Sport won't start. The immobiliser is off, the battery is good but there is no clicking from the starter. I have a new starter solenoid sat in my garage so was going to change that as the most likely cause. Having never done one before I have a couple of questions.
1. I didn't really have much time to look but with a quick look I saw what I thought was the solenoid next to/part of the starter motor, if that right, if not where is it?
2. If it is part of the water motor then how big a job is it to remove and replace it? especially since I don't really tackle any technical jobs without someone more experienced helping me.
3. Do I need to remove the radiator or is there enough room to remove parts with the radiator in place?

Any help, ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.

If you take the entire starter off you will need to move the radiator. It's pretty simple. You need a torx bit and a 10mm spanner to undo the radiator top mounts, then lift and move to the right. 9/16 spanner for the starter bolts, I believe.

I had a problem years ago with my solenoid I changed it and made little difference, ended up replacing the entire starter and that made the work of difference
