At various times, people have balanced Ford engines on top of Mini Gearboxes, presumably using the diva and drop gears.

For 50 years, just for the hell of it, I have wanted to put a 948cc diesel A series engine in my mini pick-up.

Does anyone know of anyone who can weld a "tail" on my crank and machine it for me?

Don't know about bearing sizes but the 998cc petrol engine has the same stroke. Could you not use that crank?

2" mains, 1.75" big ends, and the nose is longer to drive the injector pump.

I like your project and am looking on with some interest, though, I tend to think you'd really be up for a billet crank.

I guess it's to do with Manx Racing that made a Ford to Mini gearbox crank conversion.

The option was either a billet crank ot a bolt on extension to convert the Ford crank to take the Mini clutch and flywheel.

Peraonally I wouldn't trust a welded on extension.

Manx cats don't have a "tail", and neither does my crank.
