I'm stripping my mayfair to a bare shell and at the moment I'm trying to get the rear subframe off. A couple have snapped when doing so but no biggy.
I have one bolt left, nearside front mounting point of the rear subframe, the top bolt. It just spins and doesn't want to come out. Tightening it doesn't do anything either.
Am I right in thinking this is probably because the captive nut on the other side has come loose?
Is my best bet to just cut through the sill to get at it? The whole area will be replaced when I restore the bodywork. Cheers.

Yup
Your captive nut has given up
If your replacing the sills then just cut a hole for easy access or you can put a hole on the reinforcer plate in the companion bin this will also allow access to the captive nut
Good luck
