Check the earth point behind the header tank again.

I had similar issues with one before and I cleaned it up, put it back and it made some difference but still had problems.

I removed it again, cleaned it again and put it back and then the things that were working didn't and things that were not working did.

I ended up taking it right off, making every single point spotless and shiny and then put it back with serrated washers and all was good.

They are a pain

I'm 99% sure it's this header now. Got my central locking to work properly too. I'm tempted to strip them to bare wire and ground them individually

Right, i think i'm done! Took the header off and gave it the cleaning of its life. All female spade connectors were removed and also cleaned to within an inch of their lives. All back together and it works!

Id also say its an earthing issue
MPIs are known for it Steve

Most MPIs don't have much metal left to use as an earth!

Excellent.

I drove myself insane trouble shooting wiring issues on the last one I did discounting that point because I had* already cleaned it.
