Did have that thought in my head about going the kit car route. Especially with the clamp down on 'nice' MOT testers coming in this month who would let previous stuff pass like the fiberglass body.
Like above I think the easiest way would be to get a Mini club to verify it as a Sprint (not sure if anything else would also need to be done?) but due to it being a shell and a donor I'm not sure if they would due to it not being an original production... Confused right now! haha
Which part of the MOT tightening makes you think most testers would now fail a fibreglass body when they wouldn't have before?
