That is far from brilliant, but it might lap in OK. oun can try lapping it then maybe post a close-up shot of the contact area. That way we can all better advise you.

Oh dear, doesn't look good,  I've never seen a pit like that. 

 

I think that the chap who did the work is rather naughty to have ground it in that condition.

Gotta say - it doesn't thrill me, it really looks like it's well used and abused. Not just the crater but everything on it I can see. I wouldn't even fit that to the wife's car (runs for cover,,,)

only cause you know you would have to drive it some time.

 

i would not put it in one of my engines but if it is for a nothing special road car i would.

They ask such silly money for 970 S cranks !

He mentioned on page it's an A+ 1275 crank, so fairly easy to find compared to a 970S crank.
