Hey guys,

Have a 98 MPI, over the past month or two (on occasion) it's been struggling to turn over but always did in the end.

Today after driving it for a half hour.. leaving it for another half hour it won't do anything.. No immobiliser light, or radio in accessory and won't start.

I had a feeling the rough start might have been down to a bad earth.

Any ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated!

major engine fuse blown
electric fault due to corrosion

1000 and 1 things best start looking

Thanks!

Had a quick fettle this morning.. seems the negative battery cable has a bad earth. Had the electrics back, car will now turn over but not start.

Is the fuel pump priming?

Do you have a spark?

I'd also check/clean the ECU earth. It's on the left of the engine bay. Just to the left of the brake servo.

Thanks!

Called out AA breakdown in the end. He said it started as a bad earth, and then a flooded engine.

Cleaned it out and back running now.

Thanks for advice guys!
