Morning all, Ive had a quick search and not really found the answer is was after, I recently bought a x-pin from Guessworks lovely bit of kit, and I assembled and torqued it up yesterday all looks good spins freely, but if I grab the housing in the vice, and grab either output shaft theres a small amount of up/down side to side movement is this normal of is my diff too sloppy maybe I need thicker thrust fibres?

Can you measure the sloppyness? Using a dial gauge for example? Or post a video? There has to be a small movement to ensure sufficient oil clearance.

I don't know what the tolerances should be, nothing in the haynes manual?
What sort of condition were your output shaft bearing surfaces in?
Don't forget that the output shaft will also be supported by the pot joint in the gearbox side plate bushes once fully assembled.

The faces looked ok on the output shafts but then Ive never hid one apart before..... but its all new besides them wonder if its worth just replacing them?

You likely need a new crown wheel bush fitting. It's then needs to be machined to fit your output shaft.
