I sit here on the side of the road in Croydon broken down awaiting for recovery whilst on the L2B run. I have resided to the fact that I cannot continue😩
My MPI started cutting out after a while the leave for about 15 minutes & will restart. But then will only go a mile or two when this happens.
I have checked & there is no spark but power to the coil pack.

I have no experience with mpi mini but there pretty basic injection setup so i would say more than likely a faulty coil pack maybe even the crank position sensor, there what i would check first.

Hi Chris, Its Ryan with the red MPI who was talking with you and Mike not long after you arrived at Crystal palace! If you're local to Norwich (assuming you are if you've come with Mike) I've got a spare coil pack you're more than welcome to try and see if it fixes the problem!

Give us a shout on here or get mike to give my contact details if you'd like to do that!

Cheers!

Hi Ryan
Good to meet. Many thanks for the offer, Ill let you know if I need one for testing👍
Ive had the day on the mini today & I think Ive found the problem. I thought Id clean up the earths etc. I removed the ECU for more room & found in that part of the loom was exposed & inside there is what looks like small bare earth cables inside, but they are corroded & broken!
Ill continue this week during the evenings & Ill update.
Has anyone else come across this issue?

Had another look today. The bare wires I found are to shroud for interference. Im even more convinced the coil pack is faulty.
Got a new one coming tomorrow so Ill run it until it cuts out then change it to hopefully fix or rule it out. Im going to replace all the sensors & coil pack anyway but Id like to prove where the fault exactly is.
