evening all,

quick question, someone mentioned that they fitted an inline style heater control valve on later models, is this still feasible on my 86 998, i bought an ebay control valve but it started leaking from the face, and then the whole front part came away and pissed all over my dizzy and electrical system!

apparently i heard its fairly common these have water leaks from there, but at the gasket not the face, because it just pressurizes at that take off on the head?

just wondering if its possible to fit an inline or its actually mountable on the o/s of the engine, as from google it looks like its mounted by the radiator with a longer control cable?

thanks

Car Builder Solutions have a few to choose from;-

This one ^ is also available for 5/8" hose

I've fitted a few of these and found them all good.

I replaced the heater tap with an angled takeoff from DSN

I have also purchased the tap shown in the first link of Moke Spiders post above. Haven't fitted it yet as having the hot water flow through the heater over summer didn't make it too uncomfortable

My Mini came with a cheap new heater control valve fitted which started leaking as soon as I operated it and got worse and worse.

I replaced it with the Minispares one and so far so good.
