If you like 1960's classic cars you might like this one off magazine special:-

British Classics of the 1960s

“British Classics of the 1960s is a special edition magazine brought to you by Classic Car Weekly. It’s packed with road tests, buying guides and nostalgia about the decade’s big sellers, with everything from the BMC Mini and Hillman Imp to the Jaguar Mk2 and Rover 2000 being brought together over 100 pages. It’s a glorious celebration of a time when British cars ruled the nation’s roads, revisiting all of the era’s most fondly-remembered classics.”

That's interesting.

I was thinking about how many 1960's cars I have owned or driven. Quite a lot from 850 Mini Van to Porsche 911. I bet I've driven some cars that no-one on here can remember (how about a 1964 Simca 1500, or a 1960 Standard Vanguard Vignale?).

That was probably the S800 Coupe. Super little sports car and there was one used in historic rallying a few years ago.

It's a personal thing, I guess, but I think the finest car I drove in the 1960's was the original XJ6 4.2 Auto. I first drove one in 1969.

The other car which was special to me to drive was the early Porsche 911. I did quite a lot of international and national rallying in a 1965 911 in 1968 and '69. In those days a 911 was very rare in European rallying and in the UK I think ours was just about the only one getting good results.

XJ6 4.2 but a manual, I restored this for an old Boss about fifteen years ago, and had

the use of it for a few years as a Classic fun car!!

Did you ever do the RAC in the Porsche? used to do a lot of spectating back then, can

remember my mates mini up against 911s at Knockhill rallycross, he was approaching

the first bend and the 911 was sitting in tyre smoke!!

The 1969 911 was a car I did drive a couple times and done a lot of work on.
