Fitted a new water pump, alternator and crank pulley. This is the alignment on the pump. Is this passable?

looks off but you really need to measure against the other pulleys with a straight rule. I am guessing the alternator needs moving.

It does look like the alternator, but how would I move it? It's right on the water pump. File the pump tab down a bit or the the alternator?

Looks like the back end of the alternator needs to go up a little. Slacken all the bolts on the metal bracket onto the block and see if you can get the alternator to move, back end up, front end down.

At the moment the tensioner bracket isn't tight at the moment. Waiting for new bolts. See what its like when they arrive. Cheers both

Well got the new bolts in and after trying different thicknesses of washer on the tensioner bracket I found that even when the belt isn't on the other pulleys, it just sits like that on the fan pulley. The centre of the V is slightly across. The V is in line, it's just that the inner edge of said pulley sticks out more!

The flanges on the water pumps are seldom in the right place and on some water pumps, the bosses on them are out.

I'd be correcting the water pump rather than modifying the Alternator.
