Hi everyone,

I'm new here and got a question... I've had a 1991 Rover mini for about 3 months now and I've just discovered a wiring issue after the main beam headlights went out (still didn't work after replacing the bulbs) so there must be an issue elsewhere. The dipped beams are working fine.

any ideas? I'm not an expert but keen to sort it myself if possible!

many thanks

Nick

Check the earth bullet connections near the front of the engine bay on the left hand side with the bonnet open

Good luck

Normally with electrical faults a careful and methodical checking procedure will pay dividends. As Andy says I would start with he headlight connections, then the fuse box and then lastly the column switch. Also look for signs of any damaged or burnt wiring. Quite often it is just down to dirty electrical connection, So make sure they are clean as you move on to the next part..
