Jap Spec Mpi Rad And Cooling.

Best Answer Aria Aradhea , 14 June 2018 - 01:40 PM

Being a side-mounted rad car, you can get any aluminium rad available at known Mini spares shops. Probably better to have one with the electric fan switch sensor on the bottom just like the OEM rad setup.

My 98 jdm mpi has developed a cooling problem, I'm out of the UK at the moment however I am going to buy the full cooling system to fit when I get home in August. The reason for this is that I'm not waiting for parts. I'll buy everything then repair what's needed. Left overs are spares. The question is what is the closest aluminium radiator to the jap mpi spec? I'd love to swap it out whilst I'm on with it.

I think a 98 JDM is a SPI like mine, not a mpi, make sure you get the right parts before ordering.

A lot of people think that then they look at it and go"hmmm that's an mpi" it's definitely an mpi. With a side mounted radiator.

mpi parts

engine block

coil

oil filter

alternator

all other parts are spi(including throttle body), except the AC relay near the air filter box driver side, this part is unique.

Hi,

That's Jap spec SPI.

They have coil packs but with the SPI throttle body as you can see in the picture...

Cheers

Hi,mine has multi point injection fitted, it also photo it for you but I'm not in the UK right now. But that being said it should not make a difference to the radiator. Which was my original question.(there also were some later idle Spi jdm cars that were retrospective fitted as Mpi in Japan buy a dealer prior to sale. I got one of these. Not on purpose, just coincidental.)

Thanks Aria Aradhea. An answer about my problem rather than my cars unusual fuel injection setup.
